1 Hour Bread
This recipe makes 1 big loaf or 2 smaller loaves.
This is my quick and easy bread recipe for when I'm busy and on the run!
Ingredients:
5 1/4 cups white or bread flour
4 tbsp. white sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
1 1/ tbsp. vegetable oil
2 cups warm water
Directions:
1. Mix first 4 ingredients together, add oil and water and mix to combine.
2. Mix on high for 5 minutes with dough hook. Spray kneading surface and hands with non-stick cooking spray. Turn dough out onto surface and knead 3-4 times until dough is smooth and has even texture.
3. Divide dough in 1/2 and shape into desired shapes (round/oblong)
4. Place dough on greased baking sheet ( I use parchment paper) Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise for 25-30 minutes. Meanwhile preheat oven to 350 degrees F
5. Before loaves enter the oven, with a sharp knife, make several slashes on to of each loaf
6. Bake bread for 25 minutes. When bread comes out and stil hot , brush tops with melted butter.
